Math, Bridging The Gap

Contest Brief

I'm looking for a cartooned image of diverse children one side of a bridge made of mathematical symbols and shapes. The bridge is crossing a visual representation of adversity. This visual metaphor for adversity might be as simple as a pit, canyon, or a river with shark fins (or something else?). The far side of the bridge would be a visual metaphor for success (i.e. certificates, medals, mountaintop, money, one's "future"?).

The entire visual should be relatively simple and cartoonish. Its meaning should be obvious to an elementary school child. Its elements should also be recognizable when made into stickers approximately 3"x3"

Update! Instead of "adversity", I need the bridge to be bridging a metaphor for knowledge. Ooh, or perhaps the kids are on the left, standing on the "KNOW" of the word, and the other side of the bridge has (or is on?) the "LEDGE"? Maybe there is still a canyon in-between, or sharks or something.

Okay, one more thing: a teacher on the other side of the bridge (the side with the metaphors for success) with a hammer, implying they built the bridge. Give the kids tools too. They are helping build the bridge as well. Maybe the bridge isn't completely finished?
