Contest Brief

Hello freelancers, my company needs a website mockup designed. We already have a beautiful logo and lovely bee graphics which will be uploaded.

I'll need two designs. The first is for the home page, which will be in several sections (like a "one page" design) and will include a bee graphic in each section, perhaps above or beside the text content.

The second design will be for other pages and will be much simpler, with a single section containing a header and some paragraphs of text and no bee graphics.

The design will need a header/navigation for the home and other pages, and the home page will also need some way to navigate between sections. This could be a sub-menu on the header (Home -> Section 1) or a side-menu that only shows on the home page. I'll let your expertise decide.

The site will need to be responsive, so it would be useful to see how the designs would look on phone- and tablet-sized screens.

In summary:
* Website mockup for home-page, several sections, each with bee graphic, title and text content
* Website mockup for other pages, single section.
* Navigation between home and other pages
* Navigation between sections on home page
* An indication of how the pages would layout on smaller screens.

For the purposes of the competition, I would only need to see the home-page mockup (in desktop, tablet and mobile screen sizes). The second design can be delivered once the competition is awarded!

Finally - if you would be prepared to subsequently convert your mockups into responsive HTML templates as a separate job (with additional payment) then please indicate in the submission's comments. This part is for information only, and not a requirement.

Please read this series of comments from the bottom up! ... Finally, the bee images (designed by the enormously talented farfalli) are intended to accompany the text content in the benefits, process and costs sections on the home page. So these might be placed beside the text on desktop screens and stacked above (or below) on small screens. Thank you for requesting clarification and please don't hesitate to ask if I can clarify further.

So, in terms of the content of the site and how it will might ideally presented, please think in terms of a home page with sections for *Benefits of custom software, *About the development process, *Case studies, *Costs and *Contact to discuss your project. All the content will be in French. The benefits, process and costs sections would be full-width and contain the title and the first paragraph of the content, with a link to "view more ..." on a dedicated page. The case studies section will contain 3 columns (on desktop, vertically stacked on smaller screens) each with a teaser paragraph and a link to "view more ..." on another dedicated page. The contact section would be a basic contact form. Please note that, where I have talked about the structure ("full-width", "3 column", etc) this is just a possibility that I would rather let you as professional designers decide what's best. So the goal of the site will be to a) present a professional but approachable image, b) outline the development process with emphasis on the benefits of the flexibility and reactivity that an agile approach brings, c) outline the general benefits of custom software in terms of involvement, control, ownership of IP and tailored response to business requirement, and d) give some idea of the costs involved and payment options. This is important for SEO, as a lot of people search for the cost of tailor-made software. Cont ...

Here is a typical user story: Alain has a small startup that wholesales stationary to retail bookshop/stationers. He decides that taking his paper order- and invoice-books is a bit old fashioned and shops around for custom software development. He has some basic ideas about the what he'll need, but no experience of the process, no idea of the costs involved or exactly what he will get for his money. Cont ...
