NEW PRIZE!

Hi guys!

We would like to have a fresh and interesting infographics for our coming website. The intention is to create a website in which many contemporary figures and concepts from the different fields of theory and culture are given a short analysis in the form of data visualization. Although the information given is fact-based and researched specifically for this purpose, the visual presentation should be rather playful, colorful and fun.

Now, what we would like to get is five pieces of infographics (of which three are small) related to the French theoretician Michel Foucault, namely:

• a timeline of his life
• the timelines of two key concepts (representing of how these have changed)
• two larger infographics of these same concepts (both divided into two parts: motives for using the concept and effects of this use)

All textual information that should be included is attached. We are looking for designs that are fresh and interesting, and that are specifically designed for the web (and not for print).

Happy designing!

Added on Sat:

Please take a look of my own early sketch (attached) of these infographics. I am not happy with these as I do not have the ability of making good infographics. However, when it comes to the concepts Dispositif and Governmentally, something of the like is needed, that is, a design that retains the idea of the unity of the concept and does not disintegrate it into completely separate elements.

#extended please. I've just seen your contest but won't be able to submit the designs today. And i really would like to give it a try because I studied a lot about Foucault's theories during my university time :) Best regards!

Hello! Great contest! Hae you preference about the color theme and style of the infographics. They have to be cartoonish or more sophisticated? Maybe you can show some examples

Hi, thanks! This is a good question but I am afraid I don't have an answer. I have liked a lot of the books by David McCandless, but the field is wide and I am not familiar with all the recent styles. The style, I think, should balance somewhere between overly comical and dry sophistication. What I liked especially of McCandless was the stylish color harmonies in many of his works. However, as the infographics I am looking for are going to end up to a website, pastel colors would probably not look as good as they look in print.

Hi. Although there are five infographics needed, only two of those are what I would call 'normal sized'.

This is a intellectual -and cool- project, mr!

I have a doubt: Will use all the infographics for your website, right? So, I want to know a dimensions (or see the website). If you can put an website link here, i appreciate it.

Hi, thanks! Unfortunately we don't have the website yet. We are just in the beginning - but hopefully the project will make rapid progress. But in any case the website is going to be responsive, meaning that you can view it by using different devices with different sizes such as mobile phone or a laptop computer. So I guess the size doesn't matter?
