Contest Brief

Hello!

Looking for an exoplanet texture that I can use to add to a 3D sphere for space scenes. The final deliverable will be three 4000x2000 images. One diffuse, one specular and one normal map.

This should be a rocky terrestrial planet and not a gas giant. It should look like it can support life, so no barren/desert-like planets. Should have some water on the surface, which is what the specular map will be required for. How much is up to you. It should be quite clear that we're not looking at Earth though... familiar, but alien at the same time. No cities or lights.

obviously the texture needs to be seamless, so you can't see the joins when it's mapped to a sphere. Needs to be your own work as I'll be including the texture as one of many assets in stock footage I create... so no existing images or stock elements. Must be your own work.

Have attached a couple of images to give you an idea of the kind of thing I'm looking for. Try and go easy on the saturation in your textures... you'll see in the examples that the colours are quite muted and look pretty realistic.

You can present your entries as a flat 2:1 image or mapped onto a sphere, whatever you prefer, as long as the final deliverables are 2:1 flat textures at 4000x2000. If it will save you time, then you can just submit the diffuse images and then you can create the specular and normal once you have been awarded the project. They need to be included though with the final handover.

No clouds required as these will be added separately. You're welcome to include clouds in your renders to give a better idea of the final result, but they should be for illustrative purposes only... not included in the diffuse image. If you want to include clouds as a seperate layer then you can, but it's not necessary.

Thanks,

Scott

No, just the texture. I can handle the .obj and adding it to a sphere etc. Thanks!
