Website Design Brief for Immersive Massage Company
This one-man enterprise launched at the start of 2018. It offers a premium Swedish massage service (relaxation massage) and is located within a small premises on the high street of an affluent picture-postcard English village. There is one treatment room.
Requested Website and Media Design
I require the design and build of a website to advertise my company and attract new custom. It must be mobile friendly and optimised for search engines. The ability to upload media or information would be helpful, although not essential. Things like bookings are to be taken via telephone or email, meaning build-functionality can be simple. The website must include the following content:
• Immersive Massage Company banner across the top and highlighted menu buttons of “About”, “Services”, “Specialised oncology”, “Booking” and “Location”
• It is a 2 page website which scrolls, the buttons should take me to the different headings
o The first page is to detail About, Services, Booking and Location, with respect to my Swedish relaxation massage and immersive massage services
o The second page is dedicated to my Oncology services
• On the first page, there should be space for a video clip located on Vimeo which I will upload. This could appear in about or services.
I also require the design of two leaflets, one double-sided A6 flyer card (or a size that you like) and one more detailed leaflet DL bi-fold size. Design theme is to be in keeping with the website. The leaflet needs to include:
A brief description of our unique product
Range of therapies and price range
Business contact details
I attach a number of images for you to work with on both the website and the leaflet. I also attach a video which I would like embedded in the website, as well as copy for website and leaflet text.
Design Brief in Detail
We sell a premium relaxation service. From the moment our clients arrive and until they leave us, our goal is to completely alleviate the stress of their daily lives. We achieve this through the use of high quality products, a unique massage experience and expert skill.
For example, all our products used during the massage are organic-based. A unique Swedish massage is also offered by the option to undergo our Immersive Massage Experience. Here, thanks to our visual technology surrounding the massage couch, our clients are taken on a three-dimensional journey amongst the tropical fish and coral reefs of Indonesia, as well as ancient Balinese temples for a classical Legung dance. Meanwhile, the room is bathed in blue light and traditional gamelan music plays during the massage. The Immersive Massage is innovative, allowing our clients to completely disengage from the outside world while leaving them deeply relaxed at the end of their one hour treatment.
From March, we will also sell a specialised massage therapy for cancer patients. This Oncology Massage Therapy, will round-out our client base; who we see as either professionals, affluent housewives or recovering cancer sufferers.
For one hour’s treatment, our standard Swedish massage costs £45. Our Immersive Experience is £60.
I first became familiar with Massage during numerous trips to the far east where I experienced a number of different massage techniques, I was deeply impressed by the sense of wellbeing I received after a relaxation massage but was disappointed that the only option was to close my eyes.
“My research consistently finds that massage does have an impact on anxiety,” says Moyer. “We don’t know exactly why, but people who get massage have less anxiety afterward.”
“some experts posit that the reported alleviation of ‘state’ anxiety could be a result of something as simple as the social and psychological environment where massage takes place.”
Dr. Chris Moyer, Psychologist, University of Wisconsin
