Contest Brief

We have software we are building a marketing website and sales brochure for. The content for these has already been written by a 3rd party. This contest is to create the designs for both. The primary reason we created this as a contest is because we are unsure on what the design should be so want to give free rein to the designer for the most part.

KEEP TO EXISTING BRANDING
Attached you will find a .RAR file named "Existing Branding". This contains a sample of our business card design, and our logos (we use different orientations for different material), and the colour scheme used in the application. The application is hosted on the web address www.mylocol.com. This is to help you keep your design to our existing branding. You are allowed to expand on the colour scheme as long as it complements on the existing. The design of the website and brochure also need to complement each other but don’t necessarily have to be based on the same exact design.

SALES BROCHURE
Attached you will find a word document named "Brochure". This is the written content for the sales brochure. It needs a front and back cover and we want some images to complement the content inside. The first page includes some general direction on what we want on the front cover page. For the most part you have free rein on the design and layout of the brochure:
• You can use any of the orientations of our logo
• You can change the font
• You can change the styling of the section headers
• You can design it for A4 or A5 paper size
• You can spread the text across more pages (currently 14), with a condition that the heading for “Our Approach”, “Our Product”, and “Request a Meeting” start on an odd numbered page.

We want the design to make the brochure look interesting. The front cover should want to make the reader want to open to the first page. We want to have enough images inside the brochure so as not to overload the reader with just text.

WEBSITE DESIGN
We want to expand the website to include a marketing website and add the following pages:
• Home
• About Us
• Services
• Pricing
• Contact Us

The content for some of the pages has already been written (which is on in the attached .RAR file named “Web Content”), while some we have a general idea of the content but it is not fully decided yet. We want a general design of the website, navigation and structuring of specific pages to make them interesting.

Homepage: You have free rein how to design this, we just want it to be interesting and get the user to check the content pages. The sub-headings on the brochure content page, and in the text file name “Homepage” provide the highlights that we would want to reflect on the home page. We would also like a visible contact us button/banner on the homepage design.

About Us: The content has been written and on the file “About Us”. If you get any ideas on any way to style this page, or images that complement it, otherwise, not a requirement.

Services: The content has been written and on the file “Services”. If you get any ideas on any way to style this page, or images that complement it, otherwise, not a requirement.

Pricing: The exact content for this has not been decided. But we do know the prices will be shown in a table. As part of this page, we want the table to be designed; you can use random numbers and base the columns for Monthly/Quarterly/Half-Yearly/Yearly.

Contact Us: The exact structure for this has not been decided, but it will be a form asking similar questions to the “Request a Meeting” page of the brochure. If you have any ideas on any way to style this page, or images that may complement it, otherwise, not a requirement.

Login Page: There is an existing basic design, done by a programmer so very basic. If you have any ideas on how to improve the design it would add to your entry, otherwise, not a requirement.

A common theme is coming from the brochure cover designs we have received so far and I want to provide a clarification it if wasn't clear from the brief.

Regarding the front cover of the sales brochure, we are not looking for something that simply incorporates our logo into the design. We do not want the cover to resemble a textbook.

We want something that more resembles a business magazine. So, we are looking for something that is vibrant and colourful.

The colour scheme I provided is your starting point, feel free to add colour to that which complement one another. Feel free to use geometric shapes, stock images, or other design patterns you want. You can work around themes or partnership, technology, synergy or business evolution.

The cover needs to stick to the message of our business and company, but we want that expressed artisticly. You have creative licence in the design, and I want to see some creative designs.

  Sure. I don't mind what order you do the work in or if you layer your entry as you progress the work to get feedback from me. I will only count the entry for final selection where both items are delivered.
