Contest Brief

Hello All.

I need a concept for architectural design of a lot 50x100 foot. The lot has a open back towards hills. The requirements are as follows

1. The building should be 7 feet from the back compound wall, 5 feet from either side wall and front should be 25 foot from front wall and small garden 15 foot from front wall.
2. Entry area should have enough space for a beautiful stairs up to upper level and lower level in basement. this maybe open from above. Also a beautiful secondary entry into the main building
3. there should be a small courtyard within the building preferably in the middle with open skylight. kind of Moroccan or Turkish design
4. three bedrooms with dressing/closet and bathrooms. one the the bedroom should be at the back with windows opening at the back,
5. Main kitchen with a small dirty kitchen connecting small laundry leading outside.
6. big family room at the back with large windows to view mountain..
7. The main gate and porch should be on the right side front

There is a example plan attached. but i need fresh ideas, im not fully convinced and satisfied with this space planing.

autocad file will be preferable, although any type of file will do even pic of a paper with pencil drawing :)

The best architect will also get the chance to design the upper floor !!

    kindly submit asap now that the contest time is about to end. I am sorry could not provide detailed feedback to everyone since im really preoccupied. But looking at the designs and reading your quick notes i can see that some of you have really worked hard. it will be difficult to decide a single winner i guess but will decide whatever is most appropriate soon now

    Ground floor is in between the basement and the first floor. so basically the house is three story, the basement, the ground and the first floor.

    i will suggest the contestants should research the net a bit for plans with courtyards. there is plenty of resource on the net to give you unique ideas. i know the lot size is not ideal. thats the reason the winner will be someone with very creative and unique mind

      he is asking whats the building dpc (damp proof concret) level. height of ground level from natural surface level.
