Contest Brief

We have an existing web based mobile app used by drivers in the transportation industry. We are adding a set of compliance features that display a complex set of data. We need a UI designer with strong UI/UX experience a great eye for aesthetics to work with our development team to present this information in the most useful, intuitive, and attractive way.

We want to review different candidate user interfaces and select one for complete development. Following selection, you will work with our web development team to refine the prototypes and deliver a complete product.

Drivers are required by law to keep a log of their activities (how many hours driven each day, how many hours sleeping, etc.). This application is used by drivers to view that data for different days and quickly find the information they need to ensure they are driving safely and legally.

Information is both graphical and tabular, including a line graph that can present data over variable time ranges. The application also has many user interactions, the designer should also help with user inputs to create the best overall experience. Screenshots of the current candidate screens are provided for context.

This application is targeted mainly at phone form factors but will is used on tablets so a responsive design is also expected.

NEW INFORMATION ADDED January 12:
===========================================

The features for this contest are to be used by people that drive semi trucks in North America. They are required by law to keep a log of their activity and to only drive a certain amount of time each day and week. The rules are incredibly complicated, so having really good screens to present the information is important.

This includes showing key data like (but not limited to):
- A graph of any day or multiple days
- A table showing the raw data that made up the graph. That data will mark when there were changes in the driver's status. For example "I started driving at 8am".
- The amount of time they can drive or be on duty for the current day
- The amount of time they can work for the rest of the week (called "available cycle time")
- The number of hours they will add to their cycle time tomorrow based on the current regulation

The feedback we have gotten from drivers suggest four different views of this data:

1. A graph that allows the user to quickly and easily look at any day or range of days
2. A table of the detail that is visible in the graph (perhaps a card-flip animation to switch?)
3. A summary screen with a small number of key things at a glance:
- Driving time available
- On duty time available
- Cycle time available
- Hours gained tomorrow
- Current regulation (this is a string like "US Federal 70/8 Long Haul")
- How old the data is
4. A widget on the home screen like we have now showing driving, on duty, and cycle time available

We have all of the logic and drawing capabilities handled, we are specifically looking for ideas to get the best aestetics and usability.

If it helps, I added a new PDF to the contest this morning that documents the JSON spec for this service. It includes all of the fields and data that will feed the application.

Really sorry to say that the contest description is not clear. Can you please provide more straight forward design requirements ? What number of screens has to be designed ? and are the wireframes for the screen available ? if not then please provide specification document.

And if possible please open a chat, so that I would ask you some quick questions about the project.

I've added a new section to the contest description, hopefully that helps. I've also attached the data spec for the underlying data that will be presented.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. Thx!

Hi Contest Holder, can you please elaborate a little on what you want exactly? cause you only provided picture of your dashboard screen without giving any information about it. regards
